  Strip Brush Construction

Flat stock enters forming dies.
Formed backing strip fed to fill.
Fill and binding wire added.

Trimmed to proper height.

Metal Back Strip brushes consist of densely compressed synthetic, natural bristles or wire filaments laid down over a continuous metal channel while being formed into a "U" shape. A binding wire is inserted over the filament materials and forced down into the partially formed metal backing. The binding wire causes the fill material to form vertically as the metal backing forms and closes over the binding wire and filament. Metal back strip brushes are the most economical bursh manufactured due to the simple form of construction. Strip brushes are manufactured for many brush seal and cleaning applications

Most commom brush seal applications include:

Shields - Used Cleaning - Used
Light Exposure - Reduce Sound/Noise - Seal gaps
Air Flow - Highly Containments - Used
Dirt/Dust - Prevent

Weatherstrip Brush Seals

Weatherstrip brushes properly seal gaps of overhead doors, dock levelers, entrance doors and windows. Brush seals are the most effective in preventing air infiltration and helping bring down heating and cooling costs. Air filtration means interior air is being displaced by exterior air entering through gaps left unsealed. Weatherstrip Brush Seals reduce the pentration of uninvited enviromental elements, including dust, light, blowing dirt, sand, rain, snow, fumes, insects and rodents.

Tanis Weatherstrip Brush Seals are more effective than any other weatherstrip product. They are designed to last longer and seal better than vinyl, felt and neoprene. The nylon fill material provides a long-life cycle and durability even in the coldest temperatures. Nylon will stay flexible at 70 degrees below F where vinyl and other

materials can freeze and become brittle. In ddition, nylon also has a melting point above 400 deg.F. The nylon filament flexability conforms to the different contours to tightly seal any opening.

Our Weatherstrip Brush Seals are available in a variety of lengths, sizes and colored filament upon customers request and specifications. Easy to mount and to install aluminum holders are provided in several profile shapes shown at this web site. They are available in different lenghts and extruded in different profile shapes upon request. Aluminum holders can be provided with or without mounting holes or slots for faster installation. They are most commonly extruded with a mill finish, but can be painted or anodized in either a clear, gold, red, black, blue or dark brown finish.  Other colors availabe upon request. Specify holders with in-stock clear anodized finish. See holder pages!
