For over 40 years thousands of Ames hardness testers have been giving accurate measurements in both large and small plants. Built to meet ASTM Standard E-110, our hardness testers have proven themselves to be not only accurate, precision instruments, but invaluable time and money savers. Their lightweight portability and easy handling allow you to perform hardness tests wherever required. Our electronic models offers additional benefits with no sacrifice in accuracy or quality of construction. Ames hardness testers provide direct, true Rockwell® readings, without extra calculations. The penetrations are of correct width and depth. Our testers allow the positions of anvil and penetrator to be reversed for internal testing.
Whether or not your company will choose to pursue ISO 9000 quality control standards, we believe Rockwell Hardness Testing will continue to play a strong part in quality control worldwide. Quality products start with quality materials. Knowing the hardness of materials before you start working them will not only give you a basis on which to build quality, it will also save you time and money. All Ames harness testers are built to meet or exceed ASTM Standard E-110. Then, each tester is individually calibrated. Behind the signed certificate that comes with each tester is a painstaking process involving 70 to 100 separate readings for standard testers and several hundred separate readings for each electronic tester. Our standard testers read in the B and C scales; the Superficial models read in the N and T scales; and the electronic models read in eight selectable scales: A, B, C, E, 15T, 30T, 15N and 30N.
