Flat Top Type D3

Similar to the D2, but Type D3 features a flat top so that nuts or bolt heads may be rotated to tighten the assembly bolts. Long series Packings can be used if necessary on thick flanges beyond the maximum range.

Finish: Electro-Galvanised.

§ Special conditions may apply. See Loads and Specifications. All loads are based on the recommended Safety Factor of 5. Use of any lower Safety Factor is at the customer's discretion. Suitable for both parallel and sloping flanges up to 4°. For applications on steelwork with sloping flanges above 4°, see Type LR and Type BR. Also see tail-length / packing combinations. On thin flanges it is necessary to invert the tail adjustment setscrew. Note: The tail-screw must be set to 1/16" less than the length required before tightening the bolt. The top edge of the D3 should be at approx 90° to the bolt shank.
