Flush Clamp

The Flush Clamp is an adjustable steelwork connection which clamps the flanges of two steel beams directly together without the need to drill, weld or use a location plate between the two beams.

The Flush Clamp is an assembly, consisting of four each of six basic components : Body, Special Bolt, Special Washer, Flat Washer, Hex Nut and Half Nut. This assembly forms a clamp which is suitable for connecting beams of varying flange widths and thicknesses, making it ideally suited to the material handling industry (for the connection of overhead conveyor systems or lifting equipment) or to structural engineering applications, for the connection of secondary steelwork to primary steelwork without the need for on-site power.

Installation Notes

1. The Flush Clamp will suit all crossover angles from the minimums shown below up to and including 90°. When used to secure beams at angles approaching these minimums, ensure that the heels of the top and bottom Flush Clamps bear upon each other. The clamp must not be assembled without the heels touching.

2. When used for 90°connections, the flange width markings on the product can be used as guides to align the bodies equidistant at either side of the beam.

3. The single offset tooth on the bolt or washer engages in the serrations of the clamp body to lock the assembly in position and prevent the bolts from moving in their slots.

4. The bolt or washer can be moved by half the pitch of the serrations by rotating through 180° about the axis of the bolt centres. This enables the bolt to be located correctly - as close to the flange edge as possible and perpendicular to the beam flanges.

Illustrations featured show the Flush Clamp in use when the two beams being connected are touching and oriented in the same plane.
