One Belt Hog Pulley Alignment Tool comes with two laser transmitters, each equipped with two spring loaded tips which fit into the pulley grooves .
One Belt Hog Pulley Alignment Tool also comes with various sized removable tips to fit standard sheave sizes A-E (0.2"-1.6"). Upon making contact with the pulley, two strong industrial magnets on each transmitter hold the Belt Hog in place.
A laser beam from each transmitter shines onto a graduated target label on the opposite unit.
Horizontal and Vertical corrections can then be visually determined simply by checking the placement of the beam on the target labels. A detailed instructional manual accompanies each Belt Hog which guides the user to an accurate, complete alignment!
Strings and straight edges can be cumbersome over long spans. The Belt Hog bright laser line is great for up to 20 feet of separation!

Belt Hog pulley alignment tool
The New Laser Standard for pulley alignment
For years there has been a demand for a laser tool for aligning belt driven equipment. The Belt Hog meets this need in a new and completely unique way. The Belt Hog, unlike other products, uses two laser beams and mounts directly in the grooves of the pulleys.
Proper belt alignment reduces belt noise, squealing, sheave/pulley wear, belt wear, and vibration. Maintaining proper belt alignment can reduce unscheduled downtime, and improve the reliability of your equipment.
The Belt Hog mounting method is vastly superior to other methods. By sitting right in the groove where power is transmitted, the Belt Hog provides the best alignment possible. You don't have to rely on outside surfaces, that typically are not precision machined.
The alignment process is also very simple. As soon as the laser units are turned on, a laser line will be projected to the targets. The correct positioning is obtained when the laser lines are aligned with the center markings on the targets. The Belt Hog measures angular, parallel, and twist deviations simultaneously. The user gets live feedback as the pulleys are repositioned.
Typically, one person can carry out the alignment. Another big advantage of the Belt Hog is that it can be used without removing the belts or the belt guard. The Belt Hog is also well suited for situations where the driver and driven units are on opposite sides of the belts. All this will save on time and manpower.
The Belt Hog comes with a series of adapters that allow it to be used with A, B, C, D, and E belt grooves. The Belt Hog can handle sheaves 3" in diameter and larger and separations from 6" to 20 feet apart. And, the laser beams are very bright, making it usable indoors and outdoors. The Belt Hog is just the latest in a line of accurate, rugged, and easy to use laser measurement products from Fixturlaser AB . Patent pending.
