How does the tool work?
Plain-English explanation
The alignment tool fits at the motor mounting point. Turning the eccentric socket moves the tool's contact point, which pushes or draws the motor foot sideways in a controlled way. This lets the installer make small horizontal adjustments.
Technical explanation
An eccentric socket converts rotary movement into controlled linear movement. As the socket is rotated, its offset action transfers movement to the motor foot, allowing the motor's horizontal position to be adjusted. When used with suitable precision measuring equipment, the Side Align system can support horizontal adjustments of .001 inch or closer, depending on the application and measurement setup.
